Research participant recruitment · PUBLIC RESEARCH BRIEF
User InterviewsWhat makes a qualified participant credible enough to recruit?
User Interviews describes tools to source, screen, schedule and incentivize research participants. Its 2026 product updates describe participant-freshness rules, fraud reporting, screener upgrades and checks for possibly AI-generated open-text responses. These controls support review, but no single field or automated flag proves that a person fits a study.

Three questions for the GTM team.
How should teams balance participant freshness with longitudinal follow-up when repeat participation may either improve context or bias the study?
Set up this study →When an authenticity check or fraud report raises uncertainty, what appeal, documentation and human-review process would avoid both careless acceptance and unfair exclusion?
Set up this study →PROPOSED AUDIENCE
Who should weigh in?
North American UX researchers, market researchers, product teams, research operations, participant recruiters, privacy reviewers and procurement teams evaluating User Interviews. Include teams recruiting from an external panel and teams managing their own participants. Proposed audience only; no participant identity, application or incentive record is included.
TWO TIME HORIZONS
Trial today. A habit tomorrow?
Near term · 0–90 days
Over 0–90 days, ask recruiting teams to review fictional applications containing honest edge cases, inconsistent answers, repeated participation and synthetic risk flags. Compare qualification accuracy, reviewer agreement, explanation quality and escalation.
Longer term · 3–12 months
Over 3–12 months, follow approved recruitment rules across changing study types and incidence. Study repeated exclusions, panel conditioning, no-show patterns, demographic coverage and whether quality controls create systematic gaps.
What would make the result actionable?
Use synthetic applicant profiles with consent-safe ground truth, blinded reviewers, versioned screeners, participation histories, flag explanations and documented appeals. Validate live recruiting only with lawful data, participant consent and fairness monitoring; never infer identity or truthfulness from one automated signal.
A Gather simulation returns hypothetical customer reactions. Quantifying revenue, traffic or retention needs actual business inputs and validation against observed behavior.
