Workforce management & employee self-service · PUBLIC RESEARCH BRIEF
ADP Workforce NowWhich ADP Workforce Now self-service view makes a routine employee task easier to understand without implying advice or a guaranteed outcome?
ADP's current public pages describe Workforce Now as an integrated platform with employee self-service and mobile, web or kiosk access across areas such as pay, time, scheduling and benefits. This brief studies task comprehension using fictional employee records. It does not provide payroll, tax, benefits, employment or legal advice.

Three questions for the GTM team.
For a fictional pay statement, would a change-from-last-period explanation or a line-item glossary better help an employee identify what to ask payroll without offering tax advice?
Set up this study →When a manager sees a scheduling alert, would a rule explanation with affected shifts or a prioritized exception queue better support a correct escalation?

Who should weigh in?
North American HR, payroll and workforce-operations teams evaluating or using ADP Workforce Now, plus employees and managers completing routine self-service tasks. Use fictional organizations, employees, schedules and pay statements only. Proposed audience; no actual employee, payroll, benefits or performance data is included.
TWO TIME HORIZONS
Trial today. A habit tomorrow?
Near term · 0–90 days
Over 0–90 days, test task finding, pay-statement explanation and scheduling-alert prototypes with fictional records and seeded configuration differences. Measure next-step accuracy, correct escalation, mistaken-advice interpretation and unresolved questions. Submit no payroll, time, scheduling or benefits change.
Longer term · 3–12 months
Over 3–12 months, follow consenting teams in a sandbox across onboarding, pay cycles, schedule changes and enrollment periods. Examine self-service comprehension, escalation quality, configuration drift and notification fatigue. Error, compliance, productivity or employee-outcome claims require audited administrative data and specialist review.
What would make the result actionable?
Use versioned ADP product pages, fictional employee and employer configurations, a known-correct task-routing matrix and scripted cases for missing permissions, changed schedules and ambiguous deductions. Keep records constant across variants; collect no sensitive employee data; require payroll, HR, legal, privacy, security and accessibility review before live testing.
