Connected consumer research · PUBLIC RESEARCH BRIEF

AttestWhen should quantitative signal trigger deeper consumer interviews?

Attest describes a connected consumer-insights engine that combines quantitative research through Attest Measure, AI-moderated interviews through Attest Explore and a research copilot. Connecting methods can shorten the path from a survey result to an explanation, but a follow-up interview does not by itself make a quantitative pattern causal or representative.

CHANGE ONE THING. LEARN WHAT MATTERS.

Three questions for the GTM team.

01

For Attest, which quantitative pattern should trigger an Explore interview follow-up, and what minimum evidence should remain unresolved before the team spends time on qualitative depth?

02

When interview themes explain a survey difference but come from a narrower subgroup, how should the team report the insight without generalizing the explanation to the full market?

03

What should Compass preserve about objectives, sample, question wording and uncertainty when it connects findings across studies so a later answer remains auditable?

PROPOSED AUDIENCE

Who should weigh in?

North American consumer-insights, brand, product, innovation and research-operations leaders at B2C companies evaluating Attest. Include survey designers, qualitative researchers, product decision-makers and stakeholders who consume connected research. Proposed audience only; no Attest account, respondent, interview, survey result or private company data is included.

TWO TIME HORIZONS

Trial today. A habit tomorrow?

Near term · 0–90 days

Over 0–90 days, create paired synthetic survey and interview datasets with known subgroup effects, ambiguous drivers and conflicting evidence. Compare follow-up rules, interview probes, synthesis language and decisions made with connected versus separately reviewed studies.

Longer term · 3–12 months

Over 3–12 months, vary audience definitions, question wording, category conditions and research ownership. Study whether connected findings remain comparable, whether early explanations are overturned and how teams prevent cumulative knowledge from becoming cumulative confirmation bias.

What would make the result actionable?

Pre-register the quantitative decision rule, retain base sizes and weighting assumptions, and audit qualitative claims back to source transcripts. Validate explanations with a new sample, behavioral evidence or an experiment before treating them as causal or market-wide.

A Gather simulation returns hypothetical customer reactions. Quantifying revenue, traffic or retention needs actual business inputs and validation against observed behavior.
