Mobility membership & ride benefits · PUBLIC RESEARCH BRIEF
Lyft PinkWhich Lyft Pink benefit makes membership easiest to judge before a ride?
Lyft's current rider and membership pages describe ride types and member benefits whose availability and eligibility depend on location, ride type and current terms. This brief studies benefit comprehension before a ride and at renewal. It does not estimate savings, ride demand or retention.

Three questions for the GTM team.
When a Lyft Pink benefit is unavailable or a trip is ineligible, would an upfront eligibility card or an inline explanation at ride selection better prevent mistaken expectations? Hold destination, ride type and account state constant.
Set up this study →At renewal, would a verified past-use recap or a forward-looking benefit preview make the decision easier to understand? Use synthetic activity and do not change, renew or cancel a real membership.

Who should weigh in?
North American adults considering, currently using or recently leaving Lyft Pink, across different ride frequencies, cities and familiarity with membership benefits. Use fictional trips and account histories; exclude emergency, medical and other high-stakes transportation decisions. Proposed audience; no conversion, savings or retention outcome is implied.
TWO TIME HORIZONS
Trial today. A habit tomorrow?
Near term · 0–90 days
Over 0–90 days, test benefit discovery, eligibility explanations and renewal prototypes with fictional trips, fares and account histories. Measure comprehension, mistaken eligibility assumptions, decision confidence and task completion. Do not book rides or alter memberships.
Longer term · 3–12 months
Over 3–12 months, follow consented adult cohorts as commute, leisure and travel contexts vary. Examine benefit-condition recall, expectation drift, renewal understanding and recovery after an unavailable benefit. Savings, conversion or retention claims require observed account behavior and controls.
What would make the result actionable?
Use versioned Lyft Pink terms, seeded trip and account conditions and known-correct eligibility outcomes. Randomize presentation while holding destination, fare and ride type constant; include eligible, ineligible and unavailable cases; exclude high-stakes trips; require privacy, accessibility and consumer-terms review.
A Gather simulation returns hypothetical customer reactions. Quantifying revenue, traffic or retention needs actual business inputs and validation against observed behavior.
