Connected fitness membership & content · PUBLIC RESEARCH BRIEF
PelotonWhich Peloton membership path helps people choose the right first experience?
Peloton's current membership page compares app and equipment-related access, programming, features and profile limits, while its membership terms distinguish membership types and renewal conditions. This brief studies plan comprehension and first-session discovery. It does not test health outcomes or predict adherence.

Three questions for the GTM team.
After choosing a Peloton app membership, would a short preference setup or a curated sample-library tour better help someone find a first class they understand? Use prerecorded prototypes and do not start a live workout.
Set up this study →Before a trial converts or a membership renews, would a concise access summary or a plan-difference reminder better help people understand what continues? Use a synthetic account and do not alter billing.

Who should weigh in?
North American adults considering or using Peloton digital or connected-fitness experiences, with and without Peloton equipment and with varied familiarity with classes and training apps. Exclude minors and people seeking medical, injury or rehabilitation advice. Proposed audience; no fitness, adherence or retention outcome is implied.
TWO TIME HORIZONS
Trial today. A habit tomorrow?
Near term · 0–90 days
Over 0–90 days, test plan comparison, first-class discovery and renewal-explanation prototypes with synthetic accounts and fixed equipment scenarios. Measure plan comprehension, mistaken access assumptions, navigation success and renewal-condition recall. Do not collect health data, start workouts or change subscriptions.
Longer term · 3–12 months
Over 3–12 months, follow consented adult cohorts as equipment access, class interests and membership needs change. Examine plan-fit understanding, content discovery, expectation drift and recovery after an access surprise. Fitness, adherence, injury or retention claims require separate observed evidence and safety review.
What would make the result actionable?
Use versioned plan descriptions, fictional profiles, fixed equipment states and known-correct access outcomes. Randomize interface treatment while holding class inventory and plan rules constant; include no-equipment and unavailable-feature cases; exclude health advice; require accessibility, privacy and consumer-terms review.
A Gather simulation returns hypothetical customer reactions. Quantifying revenue, traffic or retention needs actual business inputs and validation against observed behavior.
