Enterprise writing assistance & brand governance · PUBLIC RESEARCH BRIEF

GrammarlyWhich AI rewrite preserves both the brand and the author's intent?

Grammarly's current business page describes generative drafts, organization style guides, brand-tone profiles, Knowledge Share and strategic writing suggestions. This brief studies when a suggestion improves business writing and when it risks flattening intent, introducing unsupported information or creating false consistency.

CHANGE ONE THING. LEARN WHAT MATTERS.

Three questions for the GTM team.

01

For a Grammarly-assisted customer message, would a sentence-level rewrite or a complete draft better preserve the author's factual intent and the organization's voice after expert review? Use synthetic content with a versioned fact sheet.

02

When a Grammarly style-guide suggestion conflicts with a subject-matter expert's terminology, would showing the rule and its owner or quietly applying the preferred term produce better corrections and fewer inappropriate overrides? Include legitimate exceptions.

03

For Grammarly Knowledge Share, would an inline factual snippet with a source link or a suggestion to open the underlying document help writers avoid unsupported claims while staying in flow? Include stale and insufficient sources and allow a no-suggestion outcome.

PROPOSED AUDIENCE

Who should weigh in?

North American organizations evaluating or using Grammarly across marketing, sales, customer success, operations and internal communications. Include frequent writers, brand and editorial owners, subject-matter experts, managers and administrators. Recruit authorized adult employees. Proposed audience; no productivity or writing-quality outcome is implied.

TWO TIME HORIZONS

Trial today. A habit tomorrow?

Near term · 0–90 days

Over 0–90 days, run controlled drafting, terminology and knowledge-use tasks with synthetic content, a current style guide and approved source documents. Measure factual changes, unsupported additions, brand alignment, expert corrections, source inspection and acceptance of appropriate exceptions. Do not send or publish generated text.

Longer term · 3–12 months

Over 3–12 months, follow approved teams as terminology, brand guidance and source documents change. Examine style-guide drift, repeated corrections, overreliance, unsupported reuse, administrator maintenance and whether writers retain ownership of consequential communication. Productivity or quality claims require observed work outcomes and blinded review.

What would make the result actionable?

Use a versioned fact sheet, style rules with named owners, synthetic or approved non-sensitive drafts and blinded review by subject-matter and brand experts. Exclude confidential content where unnecessary, log suggestion versions and require human approval before publication. Simulated preference is not proof of writing quality, accuracy or productivity.

A Gather simulation returns hypothetical customer reactions. Quantifying revenue, traffic or retention needs actual business inputs and validation against observed behavior.
