Auditable feedback analytics · PUBLIC RESEARCH BRIEF
ThematicWhen should an AI-generated theme become a decision metric?
Thematic describes a customer-intelligence platform that unifies surveys, tickets, calls, reviews and social feedback, turns unstructured comments into themes and sentiment, and lets analysts validate or refine the result in a Theme Editor. Its analysis suite can relate themes to NPS, CSAT or CES and trace summaries to supporting feedback. Those capabilities can make analysis more auditable, but a theme’s relationship to a score is not automatically a causal explanation.

Three questions for the GTM team.
When a theme is associated with a change in NPS, CSAT or CES, which comparison groups and alternative explanations should be checked before the theme is described as a driver?

Who should weigh in?
North American customer-insights leaders, CX analysts, product researchers, product managers, data analysts, operations leaders and executives evaluating Thematic. Include people who configure themes, interpret metric drivers and consume executive summaries. Proposed audience only; no Thematic dataset, customer comment, score, theme or private research is included.
TWO TIME HORIZONS
Trial today. A habit tomorrow?
Near term · 0–90 days
Over 0–90 days, give insights teams a synthetic multi-channel corpus with overlapping themes, rare issues, uneven segments and a known score relationship. Compare theme edits, source drill-down, metric interpretation, disagreement resolution and the evidence retained in executive summaries.
Longer term · 3–12 months
Over 3–12 months, introduce new products, terminology, channels and customer segments into the same synthetic corpus. Study theme drift, editor consistency, score-association stability and whether prior reports remain reproducible after the taxonomy changes.
What would make the result actionable?
Maintain immutable source records, labeled themes, known confounders and versioned editor decisions. Measure theme agreement and summary traceability, test score relationships on held-out data, and validate any causal or commercial claim only with observed behavioral and business evidence.
A Gather simulation returns hypothetical customer reactions. Quantifying revenue, traffic or retention needs actual business inputs and validation against observed behavior.
