Retail membership & omnichannel shopping · PUBLIC RESEARCH BRIEF
Walmart+Which Walmart+ benefit makes membership value easiest to understand?
Walmart's current Walmart+ pages describe a paid membership with multiple shopping and service benefits, including delivery, shipping, fuel, streaming and in-store features, with eligibility and restrictions that differ by benefit. This brief studies how shoppers compare and activate relevant benefits. It does not estimate savings or membership lift.

Three questions for the GTM team.
Before a store-delivery order, would an eligibility preview based on a fictional basket or a plain-language rules card better prevent incorrect assumptions about delivery benefits? Do not place an order.
Set up this study →For an active member who has not used a benefit, would a single guided activation task or a benefits checklist make the next step clearer? Use a non-regulated benefit such as shipping or streaming and a synthetic account.

Who should weigh in?
North American adult Walmart shoppers considering, currently using or recently leaving Walmart+, across store, delivery, shipping and digital-shopping habits. Include people in varied delivery and benefit-availability areas. Exclude pharmacy, credit and other regulated decisions. Proposed audience; no conversion or savings outcome is implied.
TWO TIME HORIZONS
Trial today. A habit tomorrow?
Near term · 0–90 days
Over 0–90 days, test benefit comparison, delivery-eligibility and activation prototypes with synthetic baskets, locations and account states. Measure benefit comprehension, restriction recall, mistaken eligibility assumptions and task completion. Do not purchase goods, activate third-party services or change a membership.
Longer term · 3–12 months
Over 3–12 months, follow consented cohorts through seasonal shopping, changing delivery availability and benefit additions or removals. Examine discovery, repeat understanding, cross-channel handoffs, renewal expectations and dormant-benefit recovery. Savings, conversion or retention claims require observed behavior and controls.
What would make the result actionable?
Use versioned official benefit descriptions, synthetic accounts, seeded ZIP-code and basket conditions and known-correct eligibility outcomes. Randomize presentation while holding basket and benefit rules constant; include unavailable and restriction-heavy cases; exclude pharmacy and credit; require legal, privacy and accessibility review.
A Gather simulation returns hypothetical customer reactions. Quantifying revenue, traffic or retention needs actual business inputs and validation against observed behavior.
